Partner and consultant at Kaleido, María Teresa combines environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management with strategic communication and the design and facilitation of participatory processes.


She seeks to promote sustainable business management and responsible investment, with positive returns for businesses and positive effects on society. At the same time, she promotes collaborative initiatives for a more humane and sustainable world.


She has held executive positions in the energy and mining sectors, and since 2015 he has provided consulting services to private and public organizations in the energy, mining, and port sectors, among others, as well as to international development banks.


As a consultant, she has advised and collaborated with the government and academia on the participatory development of public energy and climate management policies and has developed and led studies as input for organizational strategies and plans and for collaborative projects between diverse actors. She has extensive experience in stakeholder mapping and strategic relationship building.


As a consultant, she was Director of Community Relations and Social Investment at Burson-Marsteller Chile. She then co-founded Cobalto Comunicaciones y Gestión Social, where she began collaborating with Kaleido, contributed to the participatory development of public policies, and developed strategies and action plans for clients in the public, private and civil society sectors. She also worked as an associate consultant for Teco Natural Resources Group.


Since 2023, she has worked as an external consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the World Bank and the European Investment Bank (EIB). She specializes in the development of Environmental and Social Management Systems (ESMS) aimed at ensuring that projects financed by development banks comply with the environmental and social standards of those banks in a reasonably simple manner and in an integrated way with national regulations.


She was Corporate Affairs Manager at AES Gener and Communications and Community Affairs Manager at the Mining Council. In addition to leading strategic communication efforts, she managed citizen participation and social dialogue processes related to large investment projects. She also led collaborative learning initiatives between various entities for responsible relations between companies and communities, based on the compilation and systematization of good practices and the analysis of failed cases.


She is a member of the dialogue facilitators team at Corporación 3xi and is part of the Civil Society Council (COSOC) of her municipality.


María Teresa has also been director of non-profit organizations linked to companies.


She is a journalist from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and studied a Master in Social Sciences at ILADES. She has a diploma in Business Management from Universidad Católica and a diploma in Corporate Governance from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, and obtained the certification of the Board Member Program of Tomate Governance. He also trained in Reflective Social Practice with the Proteus Initiative.
